language fest
If you think music fest is the equivalent of geek fest, then you’ve never been to language fest. Language fest is the weirdest, yet funniest experience you can have on a school sanctioned trip. After waking at 3 am to be at the airport by 4:30, 21 of us bis (bi-lingual, that is) hopped on the plane to Juneau. Upon arriving we jammed onto a bus to JDHS.
That was where I learned of my afternoon plan. Because Brit chose not to come (apparently I was paired with her for housing), I was paired with “Jo-Hon.” In case you know not who he is, he is THE “Filipino Lisp” that you see at McDonald’s.
Now, not only was I going to be housed with a guy, which is very unorthodox for the school, but we were also going to be going to a French radio show. -Just the two of us with our housing people. Mrs. Will assured us that the radio show would be no longer than one hour. It turned out the show lasted for nearly three hours of French music and speaking. Good times.
